Oil, gas, and electricity have a lot of uses. People get a lot of benefits from it because a lot of our work needs the help of oil, gas, and electricity. Heating of water in our houses, offices, hospitals, and many other places will be easy and possible if these things are around.
Many are now using homemade solar powered water heater (heater that runs with the help of the sun’s heat) because it is proven to be the most efficient and inexpensive.
It is really an advantage if you know how to build your own homemade solar water heater because this can be a great and cheap option instead of using commercialized solar water heater that costs thousands of dollars.
You just need to know the steps and the needed materials in making your own water heater. All the materials that you will need in making your water heater are a lot less than the cost of those commercialized water heaters.
You can find great happiness if you will be able to do this thing because you can save a lot of money through this and you will also help the environment.
The important materials that you will need in building your homemade solar water heater are the following: plastic foam insulation, lumber, sampling of copper items, pegboard masonite, old water heater that will work as your storage tank, used aluminum storm windows that can be used in place of expensive glass panels, nails, relief valve, black plastic pipe, and fittings for connecting units.
The first thing that you need to do is to build your hot box. This can be a wood box covered with glass or a segment of the storm windows to catch the heat from the sun.
Water pipes and copper collector sheet can be used to build a manifold inside the box. The collected solar heat inside the box is capable to warm the water.
Next, you need to connect your storage tank which is above the manifold outlets and collector box. The warm water will now be transferred up into the storage tank and the cooler water will be sent in the collector in order for it to be warmed.
There is a need for you to check the leaks first before you will begin to use it regularly.
Lastly, apply black paint into the collector sheet and manifold because this can serve as their protection.
Put your homemade solar water tank at a 45 degree angle and connect it to the water tank and presto you can now use your homemade solar water heater.
